Australia’s first non-yellowing resin. A revolutionary product, created by the Oakfield team. This resin is ideal for top coats, castings, ocean waves, tumblers, jewellery, candle stands, ash trays or any item that requires a full gloss finish that is extremely scratch resistant, heat tolerant, is to be used in full sun or requires 100% food safety. This is NOT an epoxy (its a modified polyurea), so behaves very differently to an epoxy. Please note: This resin can be used for casting AND for coating (we know that is usually not possible.. but ResinNext is very different). It has many amazing features such as:
  • Non yellowing resin - will never (ever) yellow
  • Is 100% food safe. Zero BPA and zero VOC
  • 20 minute work time, with full cure in only 5-6 hours
  • Use as a flood coat, doming, castings, ocean waves, jewellery, keepsake pieces etc. Can be poured at depth too if you wish (up to 50mm deep, but in Volumes up to 2L per pour). If using for a river table, pour 2L at a time, waiting 2 hours between each layer)
  • Crystal clear and glossy (unlike wood putty, fillers etc.)
  • Will not blush in high humidity
  • Very tough and scratch resistant
  • Shore D hardness of >90
  • Very temperature resistant (over 100 degrees Celsius), so can be used outside in direct sunlight. It will not soften or go yellow.
  • pH neutral, so won’t damage flowers or delicate items whilst curing
  • Can be tinted to whatever colour you wish (mica and pigment pastes only)
  • Not affected by UV light
Please note: This resin does not release air bubbles as well as our other products. For best results we recommend de-gassing your mix in a vacuum chamber for 2-3 mins before pouring. If only doing a thin layer, a few passes with a butane torch is sufficient. This resin also has a better wetting ability than epoxy, so for flood coats and doming we recommend you sand up to 600 grit. Do not use alcohol or water based tints – only mica powders or oil based pastes are suitable. ResinNext is measured 1:1 by weight ResinNext does NOT adhere very well to precious metals such as silver, gold, platinum etc. We suggest using a dab of epoxy to act as a primer between RN and the metal. Another option is to use a pressure sensitive adhesive.
