Bright White Mica Powder

Bright White mica powder, to add a splash of shimmering colour to your resin work. Mica powders give a beautifully deep shimmering appearance. Being slightly translucent, they provide a mesmerizing sense of depth. When added to resin, mica powders can create beautiful three dimensional swirl effects. Our mica powders are created especially for use with all our epoxies, as well as our amazing non yellowing ResinNext products. A little bit of mica powder goes a long way! We recommend using approximately one flat tablespoon of mica powder for every 6 litres of resin. One 5ml pouch is plenty for most projects, and a 50ml jar of mica powder will make several river tables. Mica powder is well known for creating a swirly visual effect in resin pieces. If you just mix in some mica powder with your resin and let it cure without doing anything else to it, you will still end up with beautiful natural looking swirls. The convection currents in the curing resin will produce some impressive looking swirls. Alternatively, if you want more control over your swirls, you can add them manually using a wooden skewer. The trick is doing this at the right time: if you swirl too early while the resin is still liquid, the swirls will simply disappear. You need to wait until the resin is the consistency of thick honey - getting the timing right takes some practice! Mica powder can be harmful if repeatedly inhaled. We recommend using a mask while using mica powder. Available in a 50 ml jar or 5 ml pouch.
